Do you know how much research I had to do in order to be able to answer your question? Not a lot actually. I called my editor Dani and asked her. She didn’t know the answer…which made me ask myself why the hell I asked her to be my editor…but anyway…I finally did what everyone else does when they want a quick answer but not necessarily an educated one…that’s right…Wikipedia. I’m addicted.
Anyway, the closest I came up with is that any regular word partially changed with an SCHM in front…like penis schmenis…is a Yiddish reduplicaton. What’s a reduplication you ask? Seriously…do I have to do all the work around here?
