I’ll be going back to New Brunswick for the holidays to spend time with my Grandmother and my aunts. The next week is going to be filled with uproarious laughter as we all have the same sense of humour…with a little bit of help from alcohol of course.

Here’s a mostly harmless exercise for you: While spending time with loved ones, why not make a point to tell them why it is you love them. We spend so much time feeling pressure to find the right gift; we forget that the best gift we can give is simply expressing our love.

And speaking of love, there’s a lot of discussion about whether it’s politically correct to wish people a Merry Christmas, or whether to play it safe and just say Happy Holidays so as to not leave anyone out and possibly offend. At times, we’re so focused on what we should say that we sometimes forget the reasons why it’s the sentiment that is important and not the words.

Whether you’ll be staying here in North America and shoveling snow or traveling to far off exotic countries, take the time to remember the sentiment behind wishing someone Season’s Greetings. While we may follow many different traditions and beliefs, the holidays give us precious time to reunite with family and friends to celebrate and enjoy each moment…which is the best gift we can give to ourselves.

Happy Holidays lovely people! I wish you all more happiness, more love, more patience, more wisdom, more kindness, and more of everything you really need.

    Sincerely,
