Introducing The Lezzys, the Web’s all Lesbian Blog Awards
The Lesbian Lifestyle (TLL) is a blog written by lesbians, for lesbians. For the past two years the blog has hosted an online award competition for best lesbian blog worldwide. This year they are introducing The Lezzys. A new name for a bigger and better lesbian blog award contest. The Lezzys will have more categories and they expect thousands of votes from the TLL readers.
Warren, MI January 28, 2009 – The all lesbian blog awards, called The Lezzys, will be hosted by The Lesbian Lifestyle with nominations starting on Monday February 2nd. The Lezzys were established to highlight the best of the best in lesbian bloggers as chosen by the readers.
The Lesbian Lifestyle blog was created in 2004 by Kelly Leszczynski. “I wanted a place where my story could be told. I wanted other lesbian women to know that they weren’t alone, ” said Leszczynski. The blog now has over 250 registered authors, over 850 posts, and over 3500 comments from readers of the blog.
The Lezzys are an expansion on the last two years the award has been held on The Lesbian Lifestyle . The awards now contain 8 categories and a new nomination and voting system that was created by programmer Pete Holiday specifically for the awards.
“It has been amazing to watch the lesbian blogger community grow over the past 4 years. The Lezzys are a way to give credit where credit is due to the women behind these blogs,” said Leszczynksi.
Some of the new award categories are Best Lesbian 50 and Over Blog, Best Lesbian Humor Blog, and Best Lesbian Feminism/Political Blog.
The time line for this year’s awards are as follows:
Nominations: Monday February 2nd through the 9th
Voting Begins: Wednesday February 11th through the 18th
Winners Announced: Monday February the 23rd
