Happy 2nd Anniversary!
Jun 28th, 2009 by GSGrenier
I’ve been so busy with work and cleaning up skeletons in my closet that Attic Tales’ second anniversary was not only completely ignored but also forgotten. Does that mean that writing Mostly Harmless columns has become less important to me? Absolutely not! It just means that I have to cut down on my drin…never mind.
Here’s a mostly harmless tale for you: I originally started out writing this blog because I wanted to bitch and laugh about the lesbian community. To my astonishment however, over the past 24 months, this website has become a journal of sorts about my growth not just as a lesbian, but as an emotionally mature adult. Trust me; I’m just as surprised as you are.
When I started writing this blog back in June of 2007, I was just a month away from having my girlfriend of almost 14 months break up with me. She was four weeks away from realizing once and for all that only she could make herself happy. And I was about a week away from swearing off all things lesbian and becoming a nun…mmmmmmm…nuns.
Blogging on Attic Tales has become an emotional, spiritual, philosophical, and exploratory journey for me. I’ve learned so much about myself and the reasons why I interact with people the way I do. This on-going self-discovery has helped me think twice about how I communicate. It’s also forced me to really take a close look at my actions and recognize unhealthy patterns.
Don’t get me wrong, I still have a lot of growing up to do. Oh yes indeedy I do. I don’t doubt that the Universe is looking out of for me and encouraging me in a myriad of ways to be the best me I can be. I still have so many lessons to learn, but I’m open-minded and willing to learn them. All in the hope that once I do learn them, I won’t have to relearn them. I can be a bit slow.
I want to thank all of you for being on this journey with me. Whether you’ve learned something along the way, or have simply been entertained, I am sincerely grateful that you’ve stuck around through my preaching, my ranting, and my general quirkiness.
I have no idea what the next year of Attic Tales will bring but I do know that because my life is filled with love and gratitude on a daily basis, it can only be good…and if not, well I’m definitely absolutely 100% finally swearing off lesbians and becoming a nun…sigh…yummy nuns.
Thank you again my lovely readers,
Sincerely,
Geneviève

Did you know I was a Nun once?
No really, I was… ok for Halloween, but that should count!
