My very good friend Arthur Spray donated $20.00 dollars to the Canadian Red Cross for the Haiti cause. As promised, I said I would blog about any topic of his choice; he picked the subject of Arthur Spray. Funny Arthur.
Long story short, I met Arthur through his friend S, a girl I was dating when I was 24. When she cheated on me, not with just with one guy but two, Arthur was there to offer comfort and make me laugh. I was touched by his concern. He could have just stayed loyal to S and forgotten all about me. He didn’t.
He and I don’t get to see one another very often; I’m here in Montreal, and he’s all the way over in Vancouver. But despite the distance, we’ve managed to stay in touch. After all these years he continues to make me laugh.
Arthur is one of those nice guys that women have a tendency to ignore because they’re attracted to macho assholes. I have high hopes that one day straight women will fix that part of their brain that is broken.
He’s big and strong, and has a heart of gold. He’s funny and goofy, and very very gentle. He’s an actor with depth, a writer with something valid to say, a photographer who sees things the rest of us don’t, and a handyman who is actually handy.
I’m not too sure about his cooking though.
It’s been 12 years since I last saw S. She was the first woman I fell in love with and she broke my heart. However, out of that heartache I gained a friend. A friend so noble, and so incredibly kind, that it was worth every tear I shed over S.
Thank you for being you Arthur. I’m honoured to call you my friend.
